Am I crazy? Or are these adorable?
So cute-! Well, I just bought these, so perhaps I am not the best judge. They remind me so much of growing up in Hawaii, they are pillowy underfoot, and they look just sporty enough to take the gravitas out of a too-sedate outfit.
Cute. Expensive for a sandal, but cute.
I just bought a mule version. From Target. For $25.
SO adorable. Love the silver.
If I hadn’t already bought five (gulp) new pairs of spring sandals, I might be tempted to get these, too. I am loving the whole jolie-laide flatform thing.
I’m excited about my ugly-cool new Birkenstocks. I sort of wish they were navy, not black, to give them a more nautical vibe:
I am agnostic about the sandals, but so love that you bought 5 new pairs of spring sandals. I’m trying to hold at 4 (three of which were Tevas, including their flatforms in two colors. I walk a lot.)
Of my haul, two are walkable/flatforms. The others include some leopard-print calf hair flats and and the Marcie platform sandal from J Crew.
I’m intrigued by the Teva flatforms. How are you styling them?
They are HEAVEN. However, they are too much $$$ for me. If you have the scratch, enjoy!
Yup.There very cute.
you can just throw them and run out of the house..
Which is a top priority in summer shoes.
I love everything about them but how shiny they are – would prefer it if they were a matte metallic. But, I love the total look. They look comfy. Some of the ones I got for spring are these:
Super comfy too!
Thanks Trish, I think I will get the adidas recommendation. They look fantastic and so comfy.
I’m wearing them right now – on a fab beach vacay – they are perfect. Hope you love em.
Here is my take on flatforms in general––bought a pair last year (not as high as these) and while they look GREAT on the feet for distance walking (from 34th up to the Jitney stop at 40whatever-it-is on the East Side was enough to give me a blister) not so terrific. Soooo…if you are going to dash out, grab a cab and head for brunch––love them….if you are going to give the dog a generous walk––stroll for an hour or so on the High Line…maybe not. Side note: I’ve never been happy with white soles in NYC––they just don’t stay WHITE.
Love the silver not the shoe and not the coin.
I LOVE them. They are cute, will be comfortable, and go with EVERYTHING. I wear my Steve Madden flatforms all the time.
Is that an abstention?!?
Definitely cute! I’d get them too if I hadn’t already bought two pairs of silver summer sandals already. The white platform is very in this year.
So I went to net-a-porter, figured out my size in Italian measures, put the shoes in my basket — and then realized I SHOULD BE SENDING A CHECK TO HILLARY FOR $340 INSTEAD OF BUYING THESE SHOES!!!
I did, and I encourage all of us gals of a certain age to help elect our first woman President. HillaryClinton.com will take you to where you can donate money or time.
Great reminder/suggestion for those of us who can’t afford sandals AND donations at the same time…
And YES to Hillary! We have to stay strong for the beating she is going to take…
Excellent way of thinking!
Two thumbs up to the shoes, but two thumbs down to the politics. Not in a mean way: passion is good. It just totally burst my lovely little bubble of happiness from Jimmy Fallon and his band playing school musical instruments with Megyn Trainor.
Extremely fun – definitely adorable.
Also, hope you are healthy and feeling back to yourself.
Eh, for me, these are fugs. And don’t quite make it to ugly-chic. But again, that’s just IMO. I just thought this thread could use a contrarian opinion.
ah… not feeling it, too shiny.
Cuuuute! I’m always on board for a possibly questionable, chunky shoe.
Just based on looks, I don’t hate them. Though they do sort of scream this year. (I like to keep things a long time.)
I can’t tell if they’ll actually be comfortable though. I tend not to like footbeds that curve upwards near my big toes. Also I like a little bit of height, like an inch maybe.
But what the heck. If you like them, why not?
Hi, I’m Katrina and I’ll be your lone dissenter today. I think those are very far from cute, but if you love them you should get them!
I have a pair of much cheaper silver flatforms that I bought a few years ago from ASOS and am definitely bringing out again this year, along with another pair of very shiny silver pointy toe flats. I say go ahead, although the problem I’ve had with that mirror finish silver is that it cracks and wrinkles (though maybe I just didn’t pay ~enough~ for mine…)
i too am not feeling them. they remind me of japanese wood block sandals. a friend with taste i love recently bought celine lace up platforms (they’re layered platforms (white/beige/black), like a layer cake) – i find them so confounding —& it occurred to me that fashion is sometimes like a dog whistle – some things are only heard by certain people.
Yes, wear with a wicked pedicure….
I’m with Viajera – they seem like an idea that will be fun – once and then the novelty will wear off. Plus a bit of an 90’s Japanese school girl vibe.
However, like everyone else, I say, as a girl of a certain age you retain the right to rock any damn look you like and feel good about it!
No for me; I’d be eleven feet tall. And YES to Hillary!!!
Got a similar pair last year in gold. Thought I would like them more than I did
A little too trendy for me, so nay. Wait…are we talking about Hilary? Yes, then!
Not for me, but I can appreciate how others could make them work. I bought a pair of flatforms a couple of years ago and ended up returning them — they just felt so awkward and clunky (and they were so loud).
Love and they look comfy.
