Indulge me
Because yes, there was a leopard print post just last week, and I would not typically do another so soon, but this Current Elliott skirt is burning a hole in my shopping cart over at Shopbop, and when I can’t get something out of my head, I find it helps to share. Here’s how I’m picturing it: sized up so it sits a bit lower on the hips and falls a touch closer to the knees, and dressed down with a tee and flat sandals, or platforms that are on the chill side. Can you picture it? Should I go for it?
Print of the week
Sometimes, a girl’s just got to say to hell with it and go with the most electro-fantastic snakeskin print there ever was.
Print of the week
When it comes to choosing prints, the design lords over at J. Crew really know how to bring the clever…
…without sacrificing the chic. I am all over this owl business.
Big style, Portland-style
Pendelton’s upmarket Portland collection just gets better every season, and this fall is aces all around. How much pop would this knit wrap add to a shleppy winter outfit come February?
And I’m loving the idea of reaching for this artfully striped cardi instead of one of my many, many, many plain black ones on occasions when an outfit needs just a hit of instant cool.
Go bright or go home
This nifty weekender is from the Kate Spade Saturday line, which I checked out yesterday on my afternoon dog walk.* As an inveterate collector of travel pieces (have I ever discussed my menagerie of rolling suitcases with you guys?) it is the last thing on earth I need. And yet: I need.
*And from which I was not expecting much, as it is supposed to be the little sister collection of Kate Spade—a line that itself already feels too young for me at this stage in the game. But it was actually kind of fun; the tableware in particular is worth a look (I liked these); as are accessories (this crossbody iPad case seemed nifty); and I liked the mix of cute sunglasses that look more expensive than they really are too. The clothes, while cute, really are for the target demo.
It’s the little things
For those who—like me—fear if they tried to pull off the plaid shirt trend, they’d look less like they were trying to do anything related to fashion, and more like they were headed out back to check on the compost heap, may I suggest this snappy little tartan scarf ?
