In the ’90’s I was fortunate to see an exhibit of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in San Antonio. Even though I’d been a huge Kahlo fan forever it was the first time I’d seen her paintings in person. If anyone ever has the opportunity to see her work in person do GO.

And thank you for the period drama link. I’m drawn to those at the moment given the givens of what our country is experiencing––some sort of escapism that I seem to need right now.

Thank you, thank you for the link to the Frida Kahlo collection. I have been fascinated with her art and life for years, ever since I saw some of her art on my honeymoon in Mexico centuries ago.
Also, that mother’s essay — so heart-wrenching, but written so well and with information I had never read before.

Thanks for the head’s up on the New Yorker piece. I love everything Naomi Fry does.

Loved the period movie roundup! there are even a few I haven’t seen.

(and hope you’re OK– rare for you to take a vacation from the blog)
