Both my kids who are street-smart-savy-hyper-cool-tatted-piereced human beings were hypnotized by Mr. Rogers when they were toddlers. And they both wear cardigan sweaters…hummm….
Have watched the first three episodes of Mrs. Maisel––I would say it’s about 70% good, but they do make some real clunker mistakes in terms of time period. Worth the watch for something with a strong female lead.
Refreshing to see some street style that isn’t “done” for Fashion Week somewhere. And apparently I’m a really boring dresser!
Loved the craziest moments…
Re Mrs. Maisel, I watched the first four or five episodes, and after the pilot I had to skip over the endless arguments with her parents and completely non-interesting ex-husband. So in the end, each episode took me about 15 minutes to watch. The actress is incredible, and the scenes where she’s doing standup are great. But the rat-a-tat-tat pacing, overall cutesey aesthetic, and lack of exploration of class differences between the two main characters ended up getting to me.
Agreed! The lead actress us very good I love Tony Shalhoub in anything really. The first episode was very promising. But the 2nd episode really dragged. All the most annoying Sherman-Palladino quirks floated to the top. And I’m a hige GG fan.
I want more Alex Borstein and Lenny Bruce, less of the estranged husband and arguments with the parents.
I love the aesthetic though, esp. her Upper West side apartment.
I don’t care what anyone thinks, I love Mr. Rogers. A man I’m about 1000% certain never, ever hurt anyone.
those Monterrat works (in the Colossal link) are so cool. when i have unlimited funds, i will put up monitors all over my house each one featuring one of his works.
given the current revolution about women speaking out,
i thought as i was reading the description of the Mr. Rogers link that it was all leading up to some scandal. sigh.
