Generally speaking I can’t bear anything that’s too twee, but then I’ll visit the Coral & Tusk website and get sucked right into the vortex. This leather embroidered travel journal, for instance, feels like it needs to be mine.

I only use cloth napkins—it impresses guests, and always makes my takeout feel that much more civilized. And my collection is impressive, but none are quite so perfect as these.


This sachet has Hostess Gift written all over it.

    Good for you for entertaining with takeout! I am in favor of all forms of casual foodsharing, including potlucks. Whatever makes it more doable to see and feed one’s friends. Much nicer than a restaurant, imho. They are usually so loud.

    My family and I only ever use cloth napkins as well, I much prefer the way they feel, both in my lap and on my hands and face. That is certainly a beautiful linen napkin but at $68 apiece I have to say no, thank you. The sachet on the other hand…

    Coral & Tusk makes the best stuff, though I’m glad they’re moving away from the cultural appropriation. The new floral pieces are incredible.
