Well, the feral cats at Disney must have been on a coffee break when I saw a very large rat outside the Moroccan restaurant at Epcot recently. Eeewww.

Loved the 70s photos link. Interesting that the photog says people seemed to need a style twin, even as they were casting off the style shackles of the past. (Well, that’s a paraphrase.) I don’t think people look as good now. But maybe it’s what you grow up with?

Thank you for linking the Feldman photos. Wonderful work, and the clothing and even the cultural references — the way the merchandise was styled in the shop windows, and such — brought on a wave of nostalgia (for I don’t know what, exactly) so powerful it made me mist up.

“Batkid begins” touches my heart in a very big way. I lost my 16-year old niece, Sarah, to AML (A particularly aggressive strain of leukemia) almost 4 years ago, and she fought hard until the bitter end. Sarah volunteered for every clinical trial saying, “Even if it can’t help me, it might save someone else.”

Make-A-Wish is a cause that is particularly near and dear to me, too. Sarah’s oncologist had told her that there was nothing more they could do for her, but he asked her, “What’s one thing you really want to do?” and her response was “See Adam Levine and Maroon 5 at Summerfest.” Her doc contacted Make -A-Wish and they made it happen…limo, backstage passes and all. Adam wore one of the “Sarah Strong” orange rubber bracelets on stage as he performed and it was a perfect night for her and her family and best friend. Sarah took her last breath at 6:30 the next morning, in her father’s arms.

Please consider one of your charity donations to go to Make-A-Wish. They are wonderful!
