Prints of the week: colorblock florals

kirna daisy top

I’d almost call this a trend, but back in magazine-land, we used to say that something only qualified as one if you could find at least three examples of it—so I guess what we have here is maybe better classified as a clever little coincidence. Of course I love the blue and black action on this daisy print blouse from Rykiel.

There are so many moving pieces here that this cotton button-down could almost come off as a novelty—but somehow doesn’t.

I like your all-over-patterned Liberty items better. So, yes to the florals! Not so much to the colorblocking. Sorry…

Maybe if they did it vertically not horizontally. Maybe.

Re vertical color block, there’s this from J Crew–but it must not have been a big seller, as it appears to be on sale from last fall’s collection.

FYI, Kim, the link to the second top doesn’t work. I rather like the craziness of that one.

      • Maybe it didn’t work because of the price…. Other than that, it is a great looking top, so thanks for the link. I am sorely tempted. It also convinces me that the vertical blocking is much more elegant.

        Yeah, that jcrew is nice.

On top # 2 here, if they’d just stuck to the sleeves I would like it better.

But there is something to be said for crazy exuberance. I could be wrong.

Link is gone. And I loved that 2nd shirt
