That water main break at UCLA ended up dumping TWENTY MILLION gallons into the campus and the surrounding streets. Meanwhile, we get reported for washing our car in the driveway.

How awful! but I thought it was legit as long as you use a nozzle that goes on/off? When I do that, the water in the gutter evaporates anyhow — there is too little to get to the stormdrain — which according to what I learned in elementary school should return to the watershed … someday … as rain. (Please can we get some rain!!!) Perhaps I have been misinformed though.

But mostly, I’ve decided to just wash my windows for a while, and pretend my car is filthy because I’m soooo eco-fabulous. (Really it is also b/c it so badly needs to be waxed that washing it just seems beside the point. Which isn’t going to impress anyone!)

I’m with you on the car washing! One less thing to worry about. I wonder how long it will be before people begin to spray paint their lawns, like they did during the last go-round of water rationing?
