Indulge me

Because yes, there was a leopard print post just last week, and I would not typically do another so soon, but this Current Elliott skirt is burning a hole in my shopping cart over at Shopbop, and when I can’t get something out of my head, I find it helps to share. Here’s how I’m picturing it: sized up so it sits a bit lower on the hips and falls a touch closer to the knees, and dressed down with a tee and flat sandals, or platforms that are on the chill side. Can you picture it? Should I go for it?

    LOVE it, too!

Nice alternative to printed skinny jeans, esp for when it warms up – a great neutral for summer!

love it! my wallet is safe since they don’t have in anything remotely close to my size. i’m never sure about “sizing up” in CE. i feel like it always does this weird pouchy thing around my crotch – not pretty. but i have stupidly narrow hips which could account for that.

I bought that skirt a few weeks ago. Don’t size up unless you are large in the middle. The waistband has a bit of a gap to it, so I actually feel I need to wear a belt, which I never do.

Also, the color can sorta make legs look paler if they are already pale….FYI.

Other than these two things, I like the piece a lot and would recommend it.

  12. I hate to be the only dissenting comment but those pockets look oddly placed. I always figure if it doesn’t look right on the models then chances are it won’t look right on me. (Since they are paid to look perfect and I am just trudging along towards sixty trying to hold Father Time at bay.) But I would be all over a leopard print skirt- just question whether that is the one.

Love, love it. You’ve got a good plan to order one size up. The pattern is outstanding. Typically, I don’t like animal prints, but this is terrific.

I say, go for it. I have a J Crew leopard pencil skirt that I took to a tailor and had lined. I wear it ALL the time. sweater, tights, boots in winter, t-shirt & flip flops (I am, after all, in southern california) when it’s warm enough. you’ll wear it for years.
