Rather lot to pay for a summer flat, to be sure. But that utilitarian red strap is the kind of really unusual touch that almost never pays off—but totally does here, don’t you think?

Looks like the top part of the shoe wants to be tied to the bed and the bottom part to be tied to a boat.

First I laughed out loud at your comment and then I looked at the web site photo and I have to heartily agree.

      • kristie says:

strongly agreed as well. that is atrocious and gives me the same incongruous and amusing associations. awful.

  2. Andrea says:

Absolutely not. The white on that will be filthy after one day on the NYC streets and you will be SO mad about the money spent. NO!

  3. Bellaamena says:

    This is tragic, no?

  4. shirim says:

Yes until I saw the heel. Not loving that shape.

  5. Stakra says:

While I love the idea of the color/color combo – I think it’s a pass on the foot esp. with exposed toes. You are going to run into either clashing with your polish color and/or pasty skin.

  6. kfletch says:

The black strap screams ankle monitor to me, but the rest of the shoe says “I am making the most of my house arrest.”

    • TereLiz says:

      OMG, that made me LOL!

They’re a little too incongruous to me, too. like a bad Rodarte dress.

  7. Vicky says:

    That is one ugly shoe!

  8. Tara says:

I loved them from the picture you posted, but hate the heel now that I’ve clicked on the link. They would be much better in a flat, but still too expensive.

  9. Diane says:

For that price wouldn’t you expect at least a little refinement? I can see what they were going for but so clunky.

  10. mary says:

    No,no and no. So fugly.

  11. joannawnyc says:

I know that block heels and mixed materials are a thing now but I don’t feel this particular iteration is worthy of your time.

  12. AmyM says:

Definitely not. They don’t seem very versatile. And the model’s ungroomed toes don’t helpl.

  13. Tamara says:

I thought the last week’s OAU (overpriced and ugly) pink shoes with clear heels were bad but these make them look positively graceful! File these under “A sneak peek into Olive Oyl’s closet.”

  14. Viajera says:

Only if they make you really, really happy. And are super comfortable. Otherwise, a big no.

  15. clatie says:

No – I have found that those fabric shoes stretch like crazy so after a couple of days on your feet they won’t fit anymore. Then you’ll be taunted by them staring at you every time you get dressed. And you’ll feel sad.

  16. e.w. says:

Turns all but supermodel legs into…
    Stumpy McStumps…

they don’t even look mildly comfortable

  17. laura says:

I love the heel on it
would go with lots of stuff

  18. Donna says:

I have a thing for chunky heels, so I like that part. But I have to agree that the black ankle strap and the red/white canvas don’t quite go together. And there is no way that I would pay $400.00 + for them.

  19. dkurtin says:

I love them. That red will be a super nice pop on your feet. And if it gets dirty just use some shout.

  20. Um, NO. Not splurge worthy.
I see those black straps just lopping my already short legs in half. Nothing about these sandals appeals.
But definitely a good post to get people commenting!

  21. Jenny says:

Aw c’mon guys… I kinda love them. I also kinda loved the pink and clear plastic shoes last week. Can’t afford either, but aren’t blogs supposed to be a field for fantasy, at least sometimes? I am very happy at the idea of Kim or someone wearing them. And I think the heel height is just right.

  22. Jaq Fonte says:

    For everyone? Hell no.

But I would rock the shit out of these babies with a matte, royal blue polish.

    Every day of the week.

    Love, love, love these.

  23. Rene Devlin-Weiss says:

I love the sandals but too pricey for me!

  24. Mary says:

    No, no, no …
Reminds me of the strapping on aluminum lawn chairs in SoFla circa 60s… and not in a good way 🙁

  25. sarah says:

Geez, I totally LOVE them. I don’t understand all the hate. After reading the comments, I was afraid to click on the link, but liked them even more when I saw the heel. Go figure.

  26. karla says:

Adorbs, until I saw the heels. They should be flat flat flat. If they were flat (with maybe a black sole?) I would SO buy them.
